'Twas a nice Sunday morning and we all woke up early to go to Lahug and watch the Pacquiao/Marquez 4 fight live in pay-per-view.

BF told me days before that we should  watch it on big screen rather on some shitty free streaming site online because, as he said, "it could be Pacquiao's last fight". "And he might get knocked out", he added.

Clairvoyant, eh?

So yeah, the whole gang was there - bf  & his fam, my young bro & I.

The reason why I'm updating this blog is because Pacquiao lost by KNOCK OUT. The entire Filipino community should know that by now as the bout's been over for almost two hours already.

Everybody's in shock. I am in utter disbelief. And a bit depressed. Well, not really depressed but it made me blog so I guess I'm quite affected.

The first time Pacman got knocked down, I was on the edge of my seat. Good thing he was able to recover on the next round, giving Marquez a good beating with a broken nose and a bloody face and even knocking him down on the 5th round.

After bringing Juan Manuel Marquez down on round 5, Pacquiao became more aggressive. Well, too aggressive and too fraggin' vulnerable for Marquez's quick counter punches.

On the 6th round and what seems to be a Pacquiao round, every Pacquiao fan was starting to see the end of Marquez. He was getting a new dose of punches from Pacman and was obviously starting to get hurt.

Then, just like every great American TV series, there came an oh-my-god-I-can't-believe-it-can-happen twist.

There goes Pacquiao,  there goes the champion.. face down on the canvass, not moving, knocked out.

Marquez was able to connect a powerful right punch straight to Pacman's chin.

I saw my BF, sitting right next to me, gulped down a glass of sneaked-in whiskey. Yeah, we were able to sneak in whiskey.

PS

I would like to commend Cyber Cafe in Lahug for a very nice accommodation. For just Php 175 (about $5) we were able to watch the fight live in pay-per-view. With a sumptuous 4-menu lunch, bottomless iced tea & fruits on the side.

She sat on the only red leather chair facing the window, amused by the dancing snow that gathered thickly on the sill. Minutes passed. The whole house remained still. No stirring. Not a single footstep. Nothing.

She heard herself sigh as she witnessed the movement of the westering sun, signalling the darkness. She smiled. Finally, it's time.

She straightened herself up, looking around the room making sure that everything is where they should be. The pink little bag was placed askew on top of the  old toy chest. Her purse, which was given as an aniversary gift by her beloved Ted, safely sat on top of the dressing mirror. The bed was covered with fresh sheets. An unwashed glass, with remnants of last night's champagne, was placed beside the reading table, a half-read book next to it. She has read the book three times already, it can no longer stir her.

Ahh. Everyhting is so still, so quiet.

It's gonna be chilly outside. She walked into the other side of the room, opened the closet and took a suede leather coat. She put it over the red dress she's wearing. Ted once told her she looked pretty in that dress that's why she chose to wear it tonight.

The stitched wound on her arm is now starting to feel itchy because of the chill. She scratched it. A small gash opened and a drop of blood seeped through the jacket. She frowned at the gushing blood, then smiled.

It will all soon be over. It's time.

The wind is starting to blew stronger. Strands of her wavy golden streaks covered half of her face. She push them back, tucking them on her ears, and then pulled the coat closer to ward off the chill.

She closed her eyes and she suddenly  heard the screeching of the car, the sound of little Peggy crying. The last thing she felt was the touch of cold water on her warm body. Then  blackness.

It's a slimeball, life is.

You take one step forward,
it pulls you two steps back.
At some point you stop trying.
Tired.
Drained.
Prostrated from all the fighting.

We watched the TV Series version of this movie, Firefly, because we're out of TV Series to watch. That is, we ran out of GREAT TV Series to watch. We're still waiting for Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Californication to air their next season.

This guy won't settle for anything but the best - we're done with The Sopranos, The Wire, Rome.. - so he once again Googled the keyword 'best TV Series of all time' (not really sure if that's the keyword he used or if he really Googled it) and came up with a final listing:
  1. OZ by Tom Fontana
  2. Curb Your Enthusiasm by Larry David
  3. Sherlock by Mark Gatiss & Steven Moffat
  4. Firefly by Joss Whedon
  5. I, Claudius by Robert Graves
I wanted to watch #1 or #5 first. He wanted to watch Firefly. It's his list so I have to concede.

Trivia: Firefly was only aired for one season. Fox didn't sign it for a second season. More of that here.

The story's just too good to end without an ending, if you know what I mean. So the creator, Josh Whedon, decided to make a full movie of it.

Here's epic awesomeness for ya'll:

A relationship can't survive with love alone..especially when both of you have been bruised by previous relationships. No, love won't be able to see you through.

Trust. Without this you'll be walking on eggshells and in no time you'll find yourself zapped out and unhappy. Or worse? You'll keep looking for a way out.

Friendship. This will see you through many twists and bumps.

Appreciation. No matter how much you love someone, if your efforts are left unnoticed and your little deeds taken for granted, you'll suddenly feel weighed down.

Without these, eventually, the once strong tide of love that brought you close together will soon wash you ashore with nothing. No love. No hate. Just pure indifference.

Just a little blog update before my interviewssss. Be good, guys.
